Professor Andrea Ciarmiello is an expert in molecular imaging, neuro-imaging and oncology with 120 publications. At present, he his Head of Nuclear Medicine and Imaging at S. Andrea Hospital, La Spezia, Italy. He obtained his M.D. in 1983 from the First University of Naples; then in 1987, he proceeded to the University of Turin, where he specialized in Nuclear Medicine.
Then in 2000, he specialized in Radiology at the Second University of Naples. In 1991, Professor Andrea carried out research in Nuclear Medicine on the quantitative analysis of Cardiac function, at the National Institute of Health, Bethesda, USA. In 1992, he completed further research in Nuclear Medicine, using SPECT cardiac analysis at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, California, USA. In 2001, he obtained a Masters in Healthcare Financial and Human Resource Management from the University of Naples.
Furthermore in 2009, he obtained a Masters in Healthcare Financial and Human Resource Management from the University of Genova and at the same university a Masters in Management in Healthcare. Since 2010, he has been a member of HTA (High Technology Section and Hybrid Scanner) network of Regione Liguria and Multimodality imaging of brain disease (RM, PET, SPECT).
From 1993-2007, he was a senior clinical researcher in Nuclear Medicine Unit at IRCCS – Istituto Nazionale per lo studio e la cura dei tumori, Fondazione G. Pascale, Napoli. Professor Ciarmiello is a member of the Italian Society of Nuclear Medicine (AIMN), European Society of Nuclear Medicine (EAMN), Societa Italiana di Radiologia Medica. Professor Ciarmiello is currently a member of the editorial boards of European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, Current Radiopharmaceuticals and TheScientificWorldJOURNAL.
