Director of PET Radiochemistry, MOFFITT Cancer Center, Tampa, Florida, USA.
- Research Interests
Dr. Haibin Tian is Assistant Member and Scientific Director of the Radiochemistry Section in the Department of Cancer Imaging and Metabolism at Moffitt Cancer Center. He is also a member of the Experimental Therapeutics program. Dr. Tian has an academic appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida. He has over 10 years of PET radiochemistry experience, including clinical PET radiopharmaceutical production and pre-clinical radiosynthesis and development of new PET radiotracers. He is especially experienced in Investigational New Drug (IND) applications for PET drug clinical studies. Dr. Tian has held or has been instrumental in the filing of five INDs with the FDA. His research is aimed at provision of new positron-emitting radiopharmaceuticals and development of new labeling techniques for potential PET radiopharmaceuticals in clinical and research PET imaging. His fields of specialty are radiochemistry and organic synthesis, with emphasis on preparation of PET tracers, using the nuclides of 18F and 11C for diagnoses and treatment, including design, synthesis and evaluation in animals of new PET tracers for imaging of biochemical processes.
