Even with the use of radioactive materials, scintigraphy is generally safe, with the radionuclides typically having a short half-life, meaning that they decay rapidly, minimising radiation exposure. However, the technique does require careful handling and precise dosing of the radioactive substances to ensure patient safety and the accuracy of the diagnostic results.
