Dr. Maria Chiara Gaeta currently works as an attending physician at the Nuclear Medicine Department of S. Andrea Hospital, La Spezia, Italy. She graduated in Medicine in 2007 and obtained the board certification in Nuclear Medicine in 2012 from the University of Torino, Italy. During her residency, she attended a training program at Hospital of Sant Pau, Barcelona, where she was particularly dedicated to cardiovascular research, undertaking preclinical investigations in mice by employing a dedicated small animal PET/CT. In 2011, she was visiting scientist at Mount Sinai Cardiovascular Institute, New York, being involved in molecular and nuclear imaging research pertaining to myocardial remodeling and atherosclerotic plaque imaging. She was a research fellow at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland (2012-2013) working primarily in PET/MRI research projects. She is currently involved in research projects on amyloid PET imaging.
